Seventeen Tabs and Nothing to Show For It

The original plan was that Simone was going to show me one thing. A single review. She'd seen it earlier and thought I might find it useful, which, fair, I have mentioned that my earbuds have been doing a thing where the left one drops out for half a second every so often and it is deeply annoying in the way that only a small, low-stakes problem can be annoying.

Forty minutes later we were still at the table and I had opinions about codec support. I do not know what codec support is. I know what I read in the last ten minutes and I have very strong feelings about it that will probably not survive the week. Simone, for the record, was not in the market for anything. She just had the information and shared it. This is a pattern I have documented before.

At some point she took a photo of my face, the specific face I was making when I realized I had crossed the line from 'casually informed' into 'genuinely considering spending money on this', and honestly it was a service. That face needed to be recorded. I looked exactly like someone who came in for a coffee and left with a spreadsheet.

I have seventeen tabs open. I have not bought anything. The left earbud is still dropping out for half a second every so often. This is fine.
