Lauren Conrad Did Not Have to Do Me Like That
Thursday nights have a specific energy right now and that energy is: lie horizontal on the couch and let The Hills make decisions for me. I don't even fully understand why I keep watching it. Every episode ends and I feel like I've been personally involved in a conflict I had no business being near. Lauren looks at someone wrong and I'm somehow the one who needs to recover.
The thing about this show is it makes me feel very complicated things very quickly. Like tonight there was a scene where she's just standing there, looking effortlessly composed in some outfit that probably costs more than my savings goal, and I found myself doing that thing where I open my notes app, stare at a blank page, and then close it without writing anything. Which is not the show's fault but also kind of is.
the face I make every single episode
Commercial break, I wrote down something in my notebook. I don't know what I was trying to say. Something about how it's weird to watch people your age on TV acting like they have it figured out, even when you know they probably don't, even when the show is literally about the fact that they don't. It felt like an important thought for approximately forty-five seconds and then the show came back on.
commercial break productivity
Anyway. The gap year savings ledger is still sitting in my notes app being accusatory. The 'before I leave' list has exactly zero items on it. And Lauren Conrad is apparently unbothered by any of this, which honestly, good for her. Back next Thursday probably.
